He's that "grumpy grandpa" that secretly enjoys the things he complains about such as Ornn complaining about mankind yet having a soft spot for them and is all the more loveable for that. We have yet to see the Ruination game that should be a prequel to the event story, mabye Pyke acts this way for a reason?
