Where is tfs analysis database

It is strongly recommended that each database has a project. However, a single project still can be used for multiple databases, but in that case, all objects from all linked databases will be tracked at once. Using the same project is suggested in case the same database is linked from different environments or by different users where the project will be a central place for all the changes.

Browsing the repository, the user can choose any of the existing projects, as well as to create a new one, directly from the Source control setup window, using the New button in the lower-left corner of the Choose project window which will be shown when the Browse for folder button is clicked:.

As a username for the Azure DevOps Services repository, the email that is used to connect to the Azure DevOps Sevices account or the alternate username should be specified. Each user that has the appropriate permissions against Azure DevOps Services repository will be able to link a database to source control repository. As a password, the alternate password can be used.

In order to use alternate credentials, the option must be enabled on the repository. To enable it, navigate to the home page of the Azure DevOps Services account and choose the Alternate credentials option from the User settings drop-down list:. In the Alternate credentials tab specify the username and password and click the Save button:. The best practice, when linking a database to Azure DevOps Services repository, is to use a Personal access token instead of an alternate password.

To create a Personal access token, click the Personal access tokens option from the User settings drop-down list:. In the Personal access tokens tab click the New Token button:. The Create a new personal access token dialog will appear, where a name , organization and expiration date should be set:.

Note: Be sure the Full access option is chosen under the Scopes section:. What is this "job" you're referring to? The analysis database is automatically synchronized by the TFS job agent, you shouldn't need to do anything. Suggest you add a screenshot show your job. Add a comment.

Log in now. Processing the warehouse or cube depends on how much data is involved; it can take minutes or hours. Before you process either database, determine the processing status for the synchronization job or jobs that you want to run. Make sure that the status returns Idle. If you aren't a member of the Administrators security group on the application-tier server for TFS, get added now. Also, make sure that your server-level Administer warehouse permission must be set to Allow.

Sign in to the application-tier server and open the Warehouse Control Web Service by entering the following URL in a supported web browser:. By default, the virtual directory is tfs. If the project is on a different project collection, specify the name of the collection in place of DefaultCollection. A value of Idle indicates that the synchronization job is currently not running. You should process the data warehouse or the cube only when the processing status for these jobs is Idle.

If a different value is returned, repeat this step until Idle is returned for the job that you want to process. Choose ProcessWarehouse , and optionally specify the team project collection to process.

If you leave collectionName blank, all collections are processed. The service returns True when it successfully starts the processing of the warehouse and False if it isn't successful.
